Pottery began in the 7th grade, painting began in college. Currently the two are working for each other. The clay forms became the subject matter of the paintings and my glazing style continues to teach me how to paint. I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2002 with a BFA in art and a BA in art education.

Currently I teach kindergarten through sixth grade art at two schools in Papillion, Nebraska. The children have a huge impact on my work attitude and have brought a simple angle to my art. My primary influences are artists Piet Mondrian, Joan Miro, Dali, Dr. Seuss and musicians like Jimi Hendrix and Nick Drake. Balance between limited subject matter and the art elements of line, color, and space is my primary goal. The relationships between lines and the shapes they create allow me to plug in areas of serious color contrast. The titles usually come last with the idea of everyone seeing something, but not everyone seeing the same thing.
